The Donavan Group, LLC Autumn 2006-E-Letter

And Sales List.

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I wrote to everyone all together. I hope reading  this is something for which you will find a few minutes. I apologize if do not wish to hear our news.  Let me know. I will delete you from further correspondence.

Donavan and his “Group”, the breeders, our rider , JJ TATE, others’ riders, the  trainers, etc have been having a  super year! The Big Guy still thinks he is about 12,  (he is 21) and he is breeding  a very full book of mares. Perhaps some do not know that in the USA there are many, many stallions only breeding from 1 or 2 mares to 10 mares a season. Donavan has been  servicing 30 mares each year for the last several years.  Most get pregnant, and though some resorb their pregnancy, almost all will get pregnant  later in the season or the following year.. I attribute these high numbers to the  cooperation of the mare owners, and their communication with both our veterinarians and their own, so that we are all on the same page ..all reaching the goal of a Donavan foal on the ground. Donavan’s foals do not let you down.

My personal Donavan offspring under saddle are terrific! Duesenjaeger, (Pilot) the one who started all of this, back in 1999,  is winning everything he enters at First and Second level. His scores are from the high 60’s to 76+%! JJ TATE cannot say enough about him  as she takes him to Region 1 Championships. He is starting his 3rd level competitions soon. Davy Crockett ,aka Donavan’s “clone”, just now 3 years old, is going so well under saddle, JJ has spoken of looking ahead to the 4 year old Young Horse Championships. D’Aktion, our coming 3 year old, is  prancing and dancing into eveyone’s heart as he gets closer to being backed..he is for sale but only  to a person who wants an upper level horse! JJ TATE keeps crossing her fingers that I won’t sell him, since of course she would then ride him. JJ imported his Dam.

The Foals of 2006!! Oh what a wonderful crop! The colt, Don Noir, top foal at his inspection, was sold in utero, and is now in Georgia. The 2 fillies, Dakairi, and Debrentanya are here , each is 5 months  old, and though different, both have those Donavan eyes, and face, so sweet, both lovely, both  excellent in their light and lofty  movement, praised at the AHS (Hanoverian inspection).

see the sales page on the website.

I very much appreciate the mare owners who will do their research and talk with their veterinarians on the best way to care for the mares, both pre-insemination and post insemination.

Please don’t hesitate ever to call me, 262-2434-9190 or The Wisconsin  Equine Clinic and Hospital, 800-564-1550,  for information about breeding to Donavan.

In this e-letter I am including list I have compiled of Donavan offspring that are for sale. They are not all my own, but I am committed to helping Donavan’s offspring find happy homes  and productive lives. No I do not know every one of these horses personally Some I have seen, some I have ridden, some I know only because I  have had a good relationship with their owners, but I hope if you have an interest or know of someone looking for that special horse, that this list might catch your eye.  Donavan Offspring have wonderful temperaments, talent for Dressage and jump in their genes. They  will hold up  a long time, with good substance and bone, they excel at being good partners for their amateur or professional riders.

Please feel free to post this list in your barns, at tack shops, give to your pony clubs , 4 H, etc.
Also alert  trainers that you know, etc. Send me a buyer and I will give you a huge discount on a Donavan breeding! I have no room to keep all of them!! wwc

JJ and Donavan have a heart to heart.

.  "Donavan, Wendy cannot keep all of the kids! "

Thank you all for being such good friends and clients, excellent resources and good horse people!! Happy Holidays to all of you! Healthy and Happy 2007!! Wendy and Marty AND Donavan!!
